LuK (Lamellen und Kupplungsbau GmbH) was founded in 1965 in Bühl as a clutch manufacturer with INA as one of the investors. The LuK Group has been part of the Schaeffler Group since 1999. Today, LuK runs its plants in Germany, England, the USA and other countries in the world.
LuK supplies clutch systems and components for transmission, for example: repair kits and dual mass flywheels, clutch shutdown systems, as well as vacuum pumps and steering pumps. Today, every vehicle in the world rolls off the assembly line with a LuK clutch.
LuK was the first clutch manufacturer in Europe introduced the diaphragm spring clutch in the truck market. LuK places great value on the development of innovative products. One example of this from LuK’s history is the dual mass flywheel (ZMS). The dual mass flywheel has been in production since 1985 at LuK and it has achieved significant truck market penetration in the subsequent years. The year 2002 saw the 20 millionth ZMS come off the production line.
LuK as all Schaeffler plants worldwide has been certified per DIN-EN ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/ TS 16949:2009.
